About

Welcome to the world of KONYSSA

I am Andrea Kónya-Kiss, designer and founder of KONYSSA.

As a creator, I design talismans of renewal – jewelry pieces that remind their wearer of their inner strength, goals and desires, so they never lose sight of them.

Every KONYSSA piece carries a story and a symbol – created to accompany meaningful moments of change, strength and freedom.

I believe that everything I do serves renewal.

Today, from my workshop in Switzerland, I dedicate KONYSSA to the themes of renewal, inner strength and freedom.

I always strive to choose the technique that best serves each design. My work preserves traditional enamelling and goldsmithing techniques while reinterpreting them through a contemporary artistic language. Alongside enamel jewellery, sculptural pieces have also become an important part of my creative work.

In every detail – from form and texture to colour and the careful selection of gemstones – my jewellery carries symbols of transformation. Each piece tells a story of renewal, inner strength, freedom and a deep commitment to craftsmanship and lasting beauty.

The KONYSSA Seagull and Moon jewellery series is based on the work of the writer RICHARD BACH: JONATHAN LIVINGSTON SEAGULL. The goldsmith-enamel necklace shows the phases of gliding flight.

The story behind KONYSSA

For more than fourteen years, I worked as a legal counsel in Hungary, where precision, responsibility and analytical thinking shaped my professional life.

Yet over time, I felt increasingly drawn toward creativity. After the birth of my son, I decided to follow a different path—one that allowed me to create with my hands and express ideas through design.

I discovered enamelling and jewellery making, and soon realised that what fascinated me most was not only the craft itself, but the ability of jewellery to carry meaning. Symbols, stories and personal transformation gradually became the heart of my work.

This journey led to the foundation of KONYSSA—a brand where craftsmanship and symbolism come together to create jewellery inspired by renewal, inner strength and freedom.

To bring my ideas to life with the craftsmanship they deserve, I completed formal studies in jewellery design and goldsmithing at the Szimultán Art School in Budapest, graduating in 2019.

Alongside my studies, I trained in goldsmith enamelling through masterclasses and specialised enamel courses.

My learning has continued ever since through workshops and ongoing professional training, allowing me to explore new techniques while preserving the beauty of traditional craftsmanship in a contemporary form.

One of the earliest expressions of the KONYSSA philosophy was the Peacock collection.

Inspired by renewal, inner strength and freedom, it reflects the symbolic language that continues to define my work today.

In 2020, the collection received the Hungarian Craft Masterpiece Award from the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, recognising both its craftsmanship and artistic value.
